The apartment is directly opposite the Bellevue cable car, the Kandahar ski run and the World Cup chairlift, allowing for ski-in, ski-out during the peak months of the season.  Expert skiers might also wish to head to the Grand Montets in Chamonix, and the slopes of Argentière, although Les Houches often presents the best skiing when the winds are high. Having a car helps moving from ski area to ski area, although the buses stop and start right outside the door.

For ski hire, check out Intersport accross the road - they are VERY helpful and friendly and offer 20% discount during high season (10% during low season) if you're accomodated locally.  Just say you're staying at the Kandahar building across the road.
